This is a point shape file representing 2 kilometre incremental distances along each of the 8 NWT highways. These 2km points do not represent the actual location of 2km highway posts found along the sides of the highways. The feature class points are placed every 2 kilometres along a highway and represent the distance from a fixed commencement point, the beginning of that highway.
This dataset is a mosaic of SPOT 4 and SPOT 5 satellite imagery that covers the Northwest Territories and adjacent areas in the Yukon Territory, Nunavut Territory, British Columbia and Alberta. Individual SPOT images were downloaded from Geobase.ca, and full FGDC metadata for the individual images and additional information on the SPOT satellite is available from the geobase website (http://www.geobase.ca/geobase/en/data/imagery/imr/index.html) and the metadata link.
The ASTER instrument that was launched onboard NASA’s Terra spacecraft in December 1999 has an along-track stereoscopic capability using two telescopes in its near infrared spectral band to acquire data from nadir and backward views. Over 1.2 million scenes (level-1A products) acquired between March 2000 and August 2008 were used to generate the ASTER Global DEM (ASTGTM) collection. For more information on the ASTER Global DEM, please see the metadata link.
The main objectives of the MVAP Project is to produce aerial photography of the Mackenzie Delta development area and Mackenzie Gas Project route to Alberta. The spatial data set has been produced to meet the mapping needs of regulators: for issuing permits and licenses, and for environmental impacts assessment of industry development in the delta and Mackenzie pipeline corridor area. MVAP data acts as a baseline mapping tool to monitor change due to climate fluctuations and/or impacts from economic development. For more information on the Mackenzie Valley Air Photo project and the use of the orthotiles, please see the metadata link.
Orthophotos of the Communities in the Northwest Territories taken over the past 20 years. For more infomation on the imagery and dates of the images, please see the metadata link above.
IRS 5 meter otho photo mosaic of the Dehcho in Northwest Territories aquired in two stages 2001 and 2004. For more information on the IRS Mosaic, please see the metadata link.
