Spatial Data ISO Categories

Our spatial data repository is host to approximately 300 NWT datasets, and an additional 300 datasets from federal and provincial agencies across Canada.  They are broken down by ISO category so you can quickly find what you're looking for.

For example:

Agricultural:

NWT agricultural capacity, factors and potential data.

Biological / Ecological:

Boreal caribou and anthropogenic footprints, fire perimeters and history, ecological region classification photos, wildlife habitat areas, species at risk, migratory birds, wetlands, vegetation and more.

Boundaries:

Indigenous territories, critical wildlife areas, forest management zones, border license areas, administrative regions, canadian historical treaties, health authorities, electoral districts and polling divisions, geopolitical boundaries and more.

Climate:

Climate, snow melt, and temperature data.

Economic:

Mineral tenure, oil and gas rights, pipelines, more.

Elevation:

Contours, slope, angle and aspect data.

Environmental:

Canadian ecosystem districts, provinces and regions.  NWT marine protected areas, air quality monitoring stations, protected conservation areas, human development footprint, parks, wildlife sanctuaries, drinking water quality test locations, more.

Geological:

Eskers, sand, landcover, more.

Health:

public health advisory, arsenic levels, contaminated sites, mercury predictors, more.

Imagery:

Locational:

Most of these datasets are available for immediate download in a shp file format. If not, you can find them in our WMS services links.
