Partners

We would like to thank our partners who have made this event possible.

Open Geospatial Consortium (OGC)

The OGC is a worldwide community committed to improving access to geospatial, or location information.   It creates free, publicly available geospatial standards that enable new technologies.  It also manages an agile and collaborative research & development process – the OGC Innovation Program – that anticipates and solves real-world geospatial challenges experienced by its members.

Canadian Council on Geomatics (CCOG

The Canadian Council on Geomatics is represented by provinces, territories and the government of Canada.  The council’s key objective is to advance geomatics activities between jurisdictions and make available the best available geographic information to support informed decision making through interoperable systems and data.

Canadian Geospatial Data Infrastructure (CGDI)

The Canadian Geospatial Data Infrastructure is a collection of publicly available geospatial data, applications, policies, and standards to help Canadians find, use, and share geospatial information. CGDI is a distributed ‘system of systems’ based on a high level of interoperability. GeoConnections is a national program with the mandate and responsibility to lead the Canadian Geospatial Data Infrastructure (CGDI) through the use of standards-based technologies and operational policies for data sharing and integration. FGP is the Federal node of CGDI.

Federal Geospatial Platform

The Federal Geospatial Platform (FGP) is a collaborative online environment where a collection of Canada’s authoritative geospatial data, services, and applications can be easily accessed, visualized, and analyzed to inform and enhance decision-making. The FGP plays a key role in bringing together economic, social, and environmental data on a broad range of complex issues such as resource development, environmental management, and safety and security, to name a few. The Federal Geospatial Platform currently has two faces that provide access to both federal and provincial open geospatial data:

  • a Government of Canada internal site that can be found at gcgeo.gc.ca (federal employees); and,

  • a public site, Open Maps, on the Government of Canada Open Government Portal.

If you would like more information on the FGP’s products and services, please contact the FGP Team.
